Ford C6

The C6 transmission was
introduced in 1966 and was used by Ford for
everything from massive Lincolns, to 4x4 trucks and
Cobra Jet Torino’s. These are large and strong
transmissions that can take much abuse when properly
modified. If you need a seriously strong Automatic
Transmission for your Ford, a C6 is worth
consideration. Gear ratios are: 2.46 1st gear, 1.46
2nd gear and 1.00 3rd gear. Overall length is 33 ½
inches, face to mount distance is 22 3/8 inches

The
C4 transmission was introduced in 1964 and
was used in everything from Mustangs and
Galaxies to Econoline Vans and Light Duty
Pickup Trucks up to it’s final incarnation
as the C5 in the early 80’s. The C4 trans is
very compact but very durable and has a long
standing reputation for strength in a small
package. We can supply all varieties of C4
including both case and pan filled models,
V-8 and 6 cylinder applications as well as
early and late variations. In addition we
build custom Torque converters for the C-4
in all sizes and stall speeds right here in
our facility and like our transmissions, are
custom matched to each application.

Ford
AOD
Introduced in 1980, the AOD has been used in nearly every model of Ford vehicle requiring a durable, compact overdrive transmission. The AOD is a good swap choice from the C-4, C-6 of FMX transmissions and shares many common dimensions with these units. Low gear ratio is 2:40 to 1 and overdrive is 0:67 to 1. This trans uses the small block bell housing pattern which fits 250 and 300 6 cyl., 289, 302, 351 Windsor and 351 Cleveland.
